I am not sure how to respond to that. I can’t say that it’s good, as in a well written piece of literature. It is certainly interesting. In some places deliciously human and natural (like a woman who demands her partner make her a pair of new boots out of the skin of the man who wronged her*) stiff and forced in other places. It touches on so many different ideas, I’m sure it would be better if it had just focused on a few. At the same time those ideas have stayed with me for decades since I first read it as a teen and I spend a lot of time trying to find it again (which was hard, because by then I forgot the title and author, but not the ideas).

[*] it’s a planet without any mammals so humans after death are used for food and leather.
