I love you

Always
I love you
A statement on its own
self-sustaining
independent
I once wrote
I love you too
I’ve never had a sentence feel so wrong
One word added
subtracted meaning
I never knew ‘too’ made a difference
It doesn’t matter if you said it first
There’s no reciprocation
Just a statement
Always
I love you
Never
too
(I’m running a fever tonight. I have no clue what came over me. I promise I won’t try to write poetry again. For what it’s worth, it’s true.)
