Oh no.

I was all set for my NaNoWriMo. Got the story planned out, characters established, things researched, all the good stuff.

Sure, I was going to finish a story I had already started two years ago, so it’s kinda like cheating?

And then, less than a week before the start, I’m hit with an idea.

A vague idea, no research, no clear ending in mind, shallow sketches for characters, but it such an intriguing idea…

Now what do I do? Write something new for NaNo, as it is intended? Or stick with the plan? Here’s the thing, if I don’t stick with the plan, learning the ropes might never get finished. If I shelve my new idea, I might lose the ideas about my idea. — I can write a lot down but I’m actually seeing the world right now.
