Oh okay. Actually, the working in the pharmacy comment was mine too. Right person, wrong comment :) Maybe it was because you read it quickly, as you said, or maybe it was me not being clear enough. What I was trying to say was not that we (als appothekers assistent) thought ‘the addicts’ were a problem. Just that we knew which person would become problematic if/when they got in the grips of addiction. Because of the personality of this person having a tendency to aggression which the substance abuse brings out -not because of the addiction. We also knew who would not be a problem. There was a heroin addict who came by at least twice a week who was always an absolute delight, sober or not. We morned her when she passed away. So no, it’s not the substance use or abuse. It’s the people. Some should stay far, far away from things that might interfere with reason or upbringing that is able to overwrite the dark sides to their character.
