You know, in some cases, yes. Yes it would help. It all depends on the attachment style of the person you want to be in a relationship with. If they are avoidantly attached, then hiding how much you care will help tremendously.

Anxciously attached people will need constant reassuring and big displays of affection.

The good news is, if you can bring up the resilience to care for them as their attachment style demands to feel comfortable, with time they will change and be securely attached. And then it won’t matter how you prefer to care because they will be able to deal with it.

It’s not as simple as that though, (Humans. When have we ever done anything simple?)because by then you will have established a dynamic in the relationship which might be as hard to change as an attachment style.

You’re best off looking for someone whose attachment style fits best with yours.
